Banking services remain paralysed throughout state

Ranchi, Oct 27 (UNI) Banking services were paralysed throughout Jharkhand as nationalised and cooperative banks remained closed today following a day's strike called by the Union Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) demanding fresh appointment and improvement in pension policy among other demands.

The other demands included restoration of compassionate ground appointment scheme, stopping outsourcing of bank's works and acquisition of public sector banks.

Assistant general secretary of State Bank of India officer's association, Ranchi area, Babban Choubey, said all the commercial banks did not function adding more than 2000 branches remained closed throughout the state.

Moreover, Jharkhand state coopeerative bank employees union claimed that all the branches of cooperative banks remain closed protesting formation of Jharkhand State Cooperative Bank, and demanding not to implement recommendation of Baidyanathan committee and regularisation of daily wagers of the bank.
