Banking services affected due to strike

Agartala, Oct 27 (UNI) Banking services throughout Tripura were affected today following the strike by the employees in response to nation-wide agitation sponsored by United Forum of Bank Union.

The headquarters of State Bank of India, state unit at Melarmath here, wore a deserted look.

Thousands of bank employees including officers sat at a dharna infront of the banks demanding the fulfilment of the four-point demand.

They also protested against the outsourcing of banks and alleged acquisition of private sector banks.

Protests meetings were held at all the four district headquarters, added a source.
