FIR against former Bihar MLA

Bettiah, Oct 26 (UNI) An FIR was registered against incarcerated former MLA Rajan Tiwari in connection with a case related to the threatening of a doctor for procuring fabricated medical report.

Superintendent of Police, West Champaran, Bacchu Singh Meena today said Mr Tiwari had threatened Dr.Vishwanath Prasad to issue a false medical certificate to his supporter, injured in a group clash on October 23 in Basantpur village. Dr Prasad is posted at government hospital in Chanpatia.

On receipt of complaint from the doctor, an FIR was registered against Mr Tiwari at the Chanpatia police station, he added.

Former mukhiya of Basantpur Panchayat, Pankaj Barnwal was arrested in this connection, the SP said.

Mr Tiwari is presently lodged in Bettiah jail in connection with several criminal cases pending against him.
