Two killed in a road accident

Tiruchirapalli, Oct 25 (UNI) Two persons were killed and a school boy was injured when an autorickshaw in which they were travelling collided with a state transport corporation bus here today.

Police said the driver of the autorickshaw attempted to avoid running over a stray cow and dashed against the bus coming in the opposite direction, when the mishap occurred.

The driver was killed on the spot, while a passenger in the autorickshaw, Palaniyappan (57) succumbed to injuries in a private hospital.

The injured school boy, who was also travelling in the auto was admitted to the hospital, police added.
