Pak win toss; elect to field
Mohali, Oct 25 (UNI) Pakistan skipper Younis Khan won the toss and elected to field in a crucial Group B tie against New Zealand here today.
As he took to the field with his Pakistani counterpart, Kiwi skipper Stephen Fleming made a world record 194th appearance as the captain overhauling Sri Lankan Arjuna Ranatunga's long-standing feat.
In what is their 500th ODI, the Kiwis are in a do or die situation. New Zealand have made two changes by bringing in Peter Fulton and James Franklin in place of Jeetan Patel and Hamish Marshall. Spinner Patel is the 12th man.
Pakistan have fielded in the same squad which won against Sri Lanka in Jaipur on October 17. Yasser Arafat is the 12th man.
Pakistan are playing their 644th ODI match.
