Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Lucknow G K Goswami said the situation was under control and talks were under way with the religious leaders to pacify the two groups.

The SSP,however, denied that their was any major clash and described the situation as 'normal'.

Yesterday too, there were reports of verbal duel between two groups at Jama Maszid here over the offering of the important namaaz, as most of the Sunnis had celebrated the festival yesterday along with rest of the country. Shias are celebrating Eid today.
