Two CRPF personals killed in ambush

Agartala, Oct 24 (UNI) Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were today killed by suspected National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT), Biswamohan faction ultras, today in Moniram Para under Ganganagar Police Station in Tripura's Dhalai District.

According to police sources, the incident occurred when the CRPF jawans had left for Road Patrolling (ROP) duty. When the group arrived at a secluded spot, the NLFT(BM) militants hurled granades at them killing two jawans at the spot. Both of them were identified as rifleman. The details are awaited.

There were, however, no casulties on the militant side, added the source. The militants retreated after the CRPF jawans retaliated the fire carrying away two AK47 series rifle with them.

Top police officials of Dhalai district along with CRPF officials had rushed to the spot. The area has been cordoned off and a massive search operation has been launched to nab the militants.
