Three HM militants, including Div Cdr, killed in gunbattle
Jammu, Oct 24 (UNI) Security forces today gunned down three Hizbul Mujahideen militants, including a self-styled ''Divisional Commander'' of the outfit, in an encounter at Gandowh in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.
Divisional Commander Mushtaq Ahmed Malik alias Rahi, who was active in the district since 1992, his associate Section Commander Abdul Latif Gujar and an overground worker (OGW) Mohd Ishaq, resident of Chilly village, were killed by personnel of 25 RR during a joint combing operation (CASO) at Kheendhar in Gundowh area of Doda, sources said.
A special police officer (SPO) Naresh Kumar was also injured in the gunbattle. official sources added.
Two AK 47 rifles, magazines and pouches were recovered from the site of encounter, which was still going on till the last reports came in.
