Shias celebrate Id in Mumbai
Mumbai, Oct 24 (UNI) The Shia sect, among the Muslims community, today celebrated Id with traditional gaiety and fervour on the completion of the holy month of Ramzan.
Prayers were offered at several mosques across the city including the Khoja Jama Masjid at Dongri and Bandra Khoja masjid, according to Shabbir Somji, senior member and spokesperson of Shia Asna Asri Jamaat.
Special prayers were offered at the mosque at Dongri.
On this special occasion the Shias prayed for peace and harmony and resolved to counter acts of terrorism.
Maulana Safdar Karmali, a leading member of the community, wished the people on the occasion.
