'S Korea defence minister offers to resign'

Seoul, Oct 24: South Korea's defence minister, Yoon Kwang-ung, has offered to resign, local news cable TV YTN reported today.

A defence ministry spokesman said the ministry was checking on the report.

South Korean news agency Yonhap News said President Roh Moo-hyun was likely to name Yoon's successor next week.
