Panipat thermal plant achieves 87% load factor
Panipat, Oct 24 (UNI) Despite of having power generation units as old as 22 to 27 years, Panipat Thermal Power Station achieved an overall plant load factor of 87 per cent in the first two quarters of the current fiscal.
''The good performance was due to the hard work and dedication of employees. The continuous monitoring of the performance of the power station by the corporate office at Panchkula by way of obtaining regular feedbacks and holding frequent performance review meetings were also largely responsible for the improved performance,'' spokesman of the power plant said here today.
The performance was also a result of the recommendations for the improvement made by the Central Electricity Authority after an energy audit test in the plant, he added.
The plant recorded coal consumption of 697 gram per unit of electricity generated and oil consumption of 1.52 milliletre per unit, which was the lowest ever fuel consumption recorded by the plant for any six months period.
The auxiliary consumption of the power plant was 9.47 per cent which is also the lowest ever recorded for a six months period.
