Mizoram police accused of administering third degree
Aizawl, Oct 24 (UNI) Mizoram police has been accused of afflicting 'third degree' torture on a 17-year-old boy who has been shifted to Aizawl civil hospital.
Sources said the boy, who used to collect parking fees in Khatla with his cousin, had allegedly refused to give money to his owner and police arrested him.
Official sources said, ''police used third degree methods during the remand period but were still unable to extract any confession.'' However, he was produced before magistrate and declared innocent.
The matter has been taken up by a NGO Human Rights and Law Network.
