British Telecommunications appoints new MD for India operations

New Delhi, Oct 24 (UNI) UK-based British Telecommunications plc (BT) today announced the appointment of Mr C S Rao as the Managing Director for its Indian operations, BT India.

Mr Rao will be responsible for managing all of BT's activities in the country and its relationship with local licensee Bharti Airtel.

Based in the company's India headquarters in here, he will report to the BT Asia Pacific President Allen Ma, who is based in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining BT, Mr Rao spent the last two years as Lucent India's President and CEO. Prior to Lucent, he was with Tellabs India for 10 years, where he was the regional director for SAARC countries.
