Bank strike on Oct 27

Jaipur, Oct 24 (UNI) At least ten lakh bank employees and officers will observe a one day token strike on October 27 to press for their demands for a revision in the pension schemes.

The United Forum of Bank Unions have urged the employees to strike against the Central government's pension scheme based on contributions.

A meeting held on October 18 between Federation of Indian Banks and striking organisations before the labour commissioner failed to draw results. Another meeting is proposed between the two in New Delhi on October 26.

Mahesh Mishra, National Joint Secretary of All India Bank Employees Association and also general secretary of Rajasthan Bank Employees Union said on October 27, striking bank employees will congregate before State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur's Chaura Rasta branch around 1100 hrs and demonstrate.
