Bahrain insurance scheme for Indian workers gains acceptance
Dubai, Oct 24 (UNI) An insurance scheme for low-income Indian workers in Bahrain has gained widespread acceptance with the first few claims being settled.
With a worldwide coverage, premium is charged annually and ranges from Baharain Dinar 10 (Rs 1204 ) to Baharain Dinar 50 and the coverage is worldwide.
The Pravasi Bharathiya Bima, a three-in-one scheme in association with Chennai's Sri Ram Group and Ceylinco Insurance of Sri Lanka, covers life insurance, personal accident insurance and critical illness insurance.
Administered by the Al Ahlia Insurance company, several policy holders have been paid air fares to travel to attend funeral of close relatives.
The insurance scheme is increasingly becoming popular with ployers and social clubs, a company official said.
There are certain free covers like expenses for repatriation of bodies, education grant for two children and marriage grant for one daughter in the event of death of policyholder due to accident.
