APCF laments for poor college infrastructure
Itanagar, Oct 24: Despite tall claims made by the Arunachal Pradesh government to give priority on education, many students in all the seven colleges of the state stay outside their class rooms due to lack of infrastructure.
''The students during roll calls ask the teachers to mark them present as they hardly have space in the classrooms,'' Patey Tayum, president of Arunachal Pradesh College Forum (APCF), mentioned, during his visit to Dera Natung College here today.
The APCF, a conglomeration of various college students' unions, had on several occasions submitted memorandums to the state government demanding infrastructure development in all the colleges of the state but no concrete measures had been initiated in this regard, he alleged.
''If the state government continues to neglect our demands, we would resort to democratic movement,'' he cautioned.
The APCF has decided to visit all the state colleges to have first hand information of the infrastructure available to the students.
