Abducted couple rescued from Gaya

Gaya, Oct 24: Police today rescued an abducted couple from Rampur police station area of Gaya district after 12 days of captivity and arrested a criminal in this connection.

District Police Superintendent Dr A K Jain said here acting on a tip off, the police raided a criminals' hideout and rescued a trader Anand Kumar Choudhury and his wife Mamta Kumari who were abducted from Begusarai on October 12 last.

A criminal, Bibhuti Yadav, was arrested from the spot and two country made pistols, three grenades, two sets of police uniforms and a few cartridges were seized from his possession, he said.

The criminal was wanted by the police in several criminal cases.
