WB to assist Govt in industrial pollution management
New Delhi, Oct 23 (UNI) The Ministry of Environment and Forests has launched a programme for building capacity to manage industrial pollution.
The World Bank, under the Project Preparation Facility (PPF), will give financial assistance for the task. It will promote an integrated approach to pollution management which will help in cleaning up the polluted sites.
The programme will also build up a framework of regulatory incentives for pollution reduction, promote partnership between public and private entities for improved compliance, enhances public awareness through better access to environmental information and introduce measures for reducing environment and health risks to communities, the Ministry said here today.
