Three soldiers among 6 killed, police station attacked in J

Srinagar, Oct 23 (UNI) Three soldiers were among six people killed while a police station was attacked in Jammu and Kashmir during the past 24 hours.

A soldier of 60 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) shot dead two colleagues and later killed himself at Kewal in Budhal area of Rajouri district in Jammu region today.

The jawan opened fire on his colleagues from his service revolver, instantly killing both of them and later shot himself.

His identity was being ascertained. This was the second incident of shooting among soldiers in the Rajouri district in this month.

On October 21, a soldier shot dead three colleagues and wounded two others with his service weapon in the Narian area.

An official spokesman said militants detonated a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in JK Cable Network office at Tarzoo near the Sopore bus stand in north Kashmir's Baramulla district at around 1720 hrs today.

The building caught fire due to the blast as a resulted of which a 26-year-old person, Parvez Ahmad Mir, was killed, he added. A fire service personnel also sustained injuries while dousing the blaze.

A police personnel, Ghulam Hassan, who was wounded in a militant attack at Lal Chowk on October 15, succumbed at the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura here this morning.

Constable Ghulam Mohiuddin had died on the spot, in the attack carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammad militants.
