TDP, TRS leaders depose before Commission

Hyderabad, Oct 23 (UNI) Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) Founder President K Chandrasekara Rao and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Politburo member P Ashok Gajapathi Raju today deposed before the T H G Justice Chalapathi Commission.

The Commission was constituted by the Andhra Pradesh Government to probe the alleged irregularities in the Kuppam project implemented during the TDP rule, using Israel technology.

Mr Rao, a former Transport Minister and Mr Raju, a former Revenue Minister in the Chandrababu Naidu Ministry were questioned on the decisions taken by the TDP Government on the project.

Later talking to reporters, Mr Rao felt that the present cabinet was free to take any decision on the project. ''The cabinet is sovereign body. Its decision should not be questioned'', he said.

The TDP leader claimed that it was 'unprecedented' to question former cabinet ministers on decisions taken by them.
