Soldier, daughter killed in Jeep accident in Pauri district

Dehradun, Oct 23 (UNI) An Armyman and his daughter were killed and 12 others were injured, one seriously, in a jeep accident at Pauri district today.

According to Pauri SDM office sources, the Jeep was heading towards Pauri from Khirsu when it fell into a 100 metres deep gorge at AparChopra, 1.5 km away from Pauri at around 0930 hours.

The accident instantly killed Rakesh Singh (32), a soldier of Garhwal Rifles and his daughter Pratiksha (3), while 12 others including driver Uttam Singh (68) were injured. The drivers condition is said to be critical. The injured also included Roshni (28) wife of Rakesh Singh.

All the injured have been admitted in a Pauri Base Hospital.
