SAO PAULO, Oct 22 (Reuters) Michael Schumacher's media-shy wife said in a rare interview today that she was glad her husband had ended his Formula One career unhurt.

When asked by the German network RTL what made her happy, Corinna Schumacher replied: ''That we're all going to go home healthy, that nothing happened in all these years and that we got away with just the one broken leg.'' The German driver missed six races after breaking his leg in a crash at the 1999 British Grand Prix.

Schumacher, who started Formula One racing in 1991, ended his career with a fourth-place finish at the Brazilian Grand Prix today.

He won seven world titles between 1994 and 2004, totalling 91 wins and a string of records that may never be beaten.
