New Delhi, Oct 23 (UNI) In its special drive against illegal hoarding of 'patakas' in the Capital during Diwali, police have seized more than 80,000 kilogram of crackers worth two crore and arrested 67 persons.

The seizures of the illegal stock of crackers, were made during 54 raids conducted by the sleuths all over the city, according to the police.

In all, 67 people were arrested in these raids.

This, said the police, had contributed largely to the lesser pollution and noise levels in the city this year during the festive season as was evident in the reports prepared by the Central Pollution Control Board and Delhi Pollution Control Board.

Also, as per the Delhi Fire Service, there were 23 per cent less cases of fire in the Capital this year on Diwali which was another proof of the efficacy of its 'special drive', it added.
