Patna book fair begins December one

Patna, Oct 23 (UNI) More than 25 lakh books on different subjects from about 20,000 publishers will be on display during the 12-day national book fair beginning here on December one.

Talking to reporters here, chairman of the book fair committee H L Gulati today said this year the mega show would begin with a guiding theme of "Tomorrow's Children" and as such all children would be allowed free entry to the fair.

Prominent among the 400 publishers are Oxford University Press, Macmillan India Ltd, Orient Longman and Prentice hall of India, he informed.

He said in addition to Indian publishers, foreign publishers will also participate in the fair, adding Pakistani Book Sellers and Association and Katman Group from Russia will also take part in the fair.

'' We are also negotiating with the American Embassy and the British Council to participate in the fair, '' he added.

Several cultural activities would also take place, he said.

The fair is organised by Centre for Readershop Development.
