MLA and 20 others court arrest

Mysore, Oct 23: Krishnaraja Assembly constituency MLA M K Somasekhar and 20 of his followers were arrested today while staging rasta roko protest against the irregular drinking water supply since five-days in his constituency despite the Diwali festival.

Vehicular movement was affected for more than two hours in some parts of the city in view of the protest.

Speaking to reporters Mr Somasekhar said his plea to the officials of the concern department did not yield results and hence the protest. The agitators voiced slogans against the government for not providing drinking water to the people and also alleaged the officials were purposefully stopping water supply on a important festival days. The arrested MLA and others were released later.
