Mizoram lashed by cyclone
Aizawl Oct 23 (UNI) One person was killed, another injured and about 100 houses damaged in the capital city as a hailstorm lashed Mizoram.
Police officials here today said a 23-year old man, an employee of the State Power Department, identified as Lalhmingthanga, was electrocuted to death yesterday while he was trying to free some wires from an electric pole after saturday night's.
One person was injured and at least 100 houses ravaged by the cyclone though details of the damages are still awaited, sources said.
Met sources said a moisture-laden wind was blowing towards the region since Friday from North of Bay of Bengal at a height of about 1.5 km above the surface and also there is a trough, signifying convergence of winds over the region.
