Mixed trends in sugar prices in moorat trading

Mumbai, Oct 23 (UNI) Mixed trends were today seen in sugar prices on the first trading day of the Hindu calendar 'Vikram Samvat' year 2063, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said.

Sugar small and medium grades rose by Rs six and Re one per quintal respectively on account of increase in fresh demand.

Ex-mill small and medium grades fell by Rs nine each per quintal on thin buying support.

The market will remain closed tomorrow and the day after on account of Bhau bheej and Ramzan Eid.

Following were the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,751.25/1,782.25,medium grade:Rs 1,771.25/1,831.25, Exmill:Small grade: Rs 1,721.25/1,771.25,medium grade:Rs 1,751.25/1,805.25.
