LIC to open 17 Satellite Sampark Offices in South Zone
Tiruchirapalli, Oct 23 (UNI) Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), a premier financial institution in the country would open 17 Satellite Sampark Offices (SSO) in South Zone, which comprises Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry in the current year.
Talking to newspersons here today, G Prabhakara, Zonal Manager, South Zone, LIC said last year 25 Satellite Branches opened across the Country and in the current year the total number would be one hundred.
The SSOs were the branches which offer customer interface services like new business processing, premium collection, provide information on policies, among others in the unrepresentative locations, he added.
Mr Prabhakara said LIC has 261 branches in South Zone and the Corporation would only opt for technology-driven satellite locations.
The Satellite branch concept had proved successful when it yielded one thousand new policies and Rs two crore-renewal premium collection, he added.
South Zone would open five Satellite branches in Kerala and eight in Tamil Nadu. The locations would include Denkanikotta location attached to Hosur, Usilampatti, attached to Periyakulam branch in Madurai and two more Satellite branches in Coimbatore division.
In Kerala, a new Satellite branch would come up at Kattakada attached to Nyadingarah branch in Tiruvananthapuram division, two e branches in Ernakulam and one in Kozhikode.
