Mallorca, Oct 23 (UNI) Jeev Milkha Singh saved his best for the last and fired a two-under 68 in the final round to finish a creditable tied 13th in the 1,750,000 euro Mallorca Classic here.

The UBS Asian Tour Order of Merit leader ended his campaign with a total of three-over 283 at the Pula Golf Club after mixing five birdies with three bogeys in the final round.

Jeev did not have the best possible start as he stumbled to a bogey on the very first hole and his fortunes kept oscillating as he picked up a shot on the fifth only to hit another boegy on the seventh.

However, the Indian ended his front nine on a bright note by gaining a shot on the eighth to make the turn at two-under. On his way back, Jeev was off to good start as he sank in a birdie on the 11th but a dropped shot on the 14th once again pulled him back.

But that was to be Jeev's last miss of the day as he signed off with consecutive birdies on the 16th and 17th to end the tournament on a high.

At the top, Niclas Fasth claimed his fifth European Tour International Schedule title afeter a controlled final round 68 saw the Swede win the Mallorca Classic with a total of five-under 275.

The 34-year-old, who started the final day as joint leader with Irishman Gary Murphy, finished three shots clear off the 2004 champion and second placed Sergio Garcia, who also closed with a 68.
