Id inspires love and compassion: Kalam

New Delhi, Oct 23 (UNI) President APJ Abdul Kalam has greeted the people on the occasion of Idu'l Fitr calling upon communities to strengthen mutual goodwill.

''On the auspicious occasion of Idu'l Fitr, I extend my best wishes to all my people in India and abroad,'' the President said in his message.

The festival, which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramzan, inspires ''each one of us'' to follow the path of love and compassion, Dr Kalam said.

''Idu'l Fitr brings joy and happiness to the people on the culmination of the month of Holy Ramzan, a period of fasting, prayer and charity. May this year's Idu'l Fitr celebrations strengthen mutual goodwill and inspire each one of us to follow the path of love and compassion,'' he said.
