Hoax call about boat tragedy

Seoni (MP), Oct 23: The district administration went into a tizzy today courtesy a hoax call about 15 persons drowning after a boat capsized during a sports competition at a local lake.

District Collector Anil Yadav, other senior officials, rescue and relief teams rushed to the spot.

''At about 1100 hrs, the police control room received a call from a person identifying himself as Khairnara village Sarpanch Sukman Uike. Investigation revealed that a youth named Dinesh Haderia misused Mr Uike's telephone. The accused is absconding,'' said Superintendent of Police R K Marathe.
