FIR against 11, including 7 MCD engineers, for unauth construction
New Delhi, Oct 23 (UNI) The CBI has registered FIR against eleven people including seven Municipal Corporation of Delhi engineers for their involvement in unauthorised construction in Civil Lines area of North Delhi.
The FIR of the case, put forward by 'Kalyan Sanstha' -- a social welfare organisation -- in the court of CBI Special Judge Vinod Goel, was registered for criminal conspiracy and under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Among those, against whom the FIR was registered, include an executive engineer, two assistant engineers, four junior engineers and four businessmen.
The MCD officials had connived with builders and the politically influential to allow 556 unauthorised constructions in Civil Lines - their area of operation.
The FIR was registered on the direction of the Delhi High Court, following a writ petition by the NGO on April 20 this year.
