Electric scooter launched

Kochi, Oct 23 (UNI) The Bangalore-based Gulf Star International launched an electric scooter, 'Eko Cosmic', here today.

Talking to mediapersons, Managing Director Andrews Jacob said the scooter can travel upto 50 kms with one unit of electricity and is environment friendly with zero pollution.

He said the scooter is very cost effective and has an average overhead expense of Rs 0.08 per km.

The battery with a life of 300 cycles, can be easily charged and has a system voltage of 48 Volts, he said.

The two-wheeler, priced at 33,000, features the novel auto-dimmer for night riding, he added.

He said the immediate plan was to manufacture 6,000 units and would be for the markets in the southern states.
