Coldwave continuous in HP
Shimla, Oct 23 (UNI) The coldwave continued to maintain its grip over Himachal Pradesh despite no report of any rain or snow from anywhere in the state during the last 24 hrs, met office sources today said.
The night temperatures in almost all places in Kinnaur, Lahaul Spiti, Chamba and Kullu districts of the state have fallen below zero with Kalpa in Kinnuar recording a night temperature of minus 0.4 degrees.
The sources said despite a mainly clear sky over almost all mid and lower hills of the state today, the day and night temperatures have plummeted by at least a degree, forcing people to take out their woollens and heating appliances.
The sky over Shimla and other adjoining areas was partially covered under clouds and sun played hide and seek all day long.
The met sources said the state capital recorded a night temperature of 7.5 degrees against 8.3 degrees recorded yesterday, while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded minimum temperatures of 3.2 and 8.2 degree Celsius respectively.
It also predicted light showers and snow at isolated places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
