Chennai, Oct 23 (UNI) All India Anna DMK (AIADMK) General Secretary J Jayalalithaa today strongly criticised actor-turned politician, DMDK founder-President Vijayakant for allegedly comparing himself with AIADMK founder and former Chief Minister, the legendary MGR.

The dark complexioned Vijaykant, who had taken the plunge into politics in September last year, founding the DMDK, is being projected as ''Karuppu MGR''- Black MGR, by his party.

In veiled criticism of Mr Vijaykant, Ms Jaya lalithaa said ''there is only only one MGR who lives in the hearts of the masses.'' ''Many are calling themselves MGR. But there can never be another MGR'', Ms Jayalalithaa observed and added these partymen will soon realise how foolish it would be to compare themselves with MGR.

''Those who come drunk even to the Assembly'', have no locus standi and the status, even to utter the name of MGR, who had never touched liquor in his lifetime, she said.

Ms Jayalalithaa also ridiculed the promise being made by Vijaykant during his election campaigns that if his DMDK was voted to power, rations would be delivered to people at their doorstep and he would provide a corruption free government.

She also asserted that the true heirs of MGR were only the leaders of the AIADMK and its cadres. ''At no time can anybody else become an MGR. ''We are the true political heirs of MGR as only we have been working to ensure that his ideals and dreams for the well being of the people are realised'', she pointed out.
