50 feared missing in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Oct 23 (UNI) At least 50 people, mostly children and women, were missing when a motor launch with about 100 passengers sank in the Meghna river in south Munshiganj district today, about 25 kms from here.

Local people managed to recover two bodies and some passengers managed to swim ashore but the fate of others remained uncertain.

The ferry sank 30 yards deep under water after hitting a cargo vessel at about 0930 hrs local time.
