20-member mining delegation in Canada from October 24-29
New Delhi, Oct 23 (UNI) With a view to explore the mining opportunities in Canada, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in association with the Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI), will lead a 20-member mining delegation to Canada from 24-29 October 2006.
The mission aims to explore business opportunities in the mining sector, promote Indian mining and mining equipment industry, identify new emerging technologies and possible areas of co-operation for mutual benefit. The delegation will present India's capacity and capabilities in mining and mining equipment sector and interact with the leading mining companies in Canada for joint venture projects, a statement said here.
The delegation will be led by Ministry of Mines Secretary A K D Jadhav, and will comprise senior officials from the public and private sectors, leading Indian mining companies and research Institutions.
During the visit, the delegation will have a series of business meetings with the Canadian associations, and will also visit Inco's Stobie Mines in Sudbury and hold interactive sessions and roundtables with leading Canadian mining companies and Toronto Stock Exchange, the statement added.
CII National Committee on Mining Chairman Ravi Kastia and Group Executive President and Business Head Aditya Birla Group would be the co-leaders for the delegation.
