Two arrested in connection with murder

Visakhapatnam, Oct 22 (UNI) The city police today arrested two persons on charges of kidnapping and murdering a 40-year-old business man on September 16 this year.

City Police Commissioner V S K Kaumudi told reporters here today that V Srinadh Rao (35) and Durga Prasad (28) were arrested after carrying out a detailed investigation.

The murdered V R Chinnapa Reddy (40), who was running a finance business and Jewellery shop, had given Rs three lakh as loan to Srinadh Rao.

As Srinadh Rao failed to repay the loan amount on time, Chinnapa Reddy demanded his money back.

To avoid repayment, Srinadh Rao with the help of his collection agent Durga Prasad (28) and one Balaraju alias Raju of Kadapah District, hatched a plot to kill Chinnapa Reddy.

As part of the plan, Chinnapa Reddy was kidnapped and enroute killed by strangulating with a cable.

The Commissioner said the police recovered one motor cycle, a gold chain and five rings along with the cable used by the accused.
