TDP Chief must apologise to Harijans, Dalits: Minister
Vijayawada, Oct 22 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration Minister Koneru Rangarao today demanded that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chief N Chandrababu Naidu should apologise to Harijan and Dalit community in the state.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Rangarao said TDP's protest on Ocotber 19 against alleged misrule of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and for allegedly insulting a Harijan by making him look like the Chief Minister, putting him at the front of the procession and hurling derogatory remarks and hitting him with brooms.
He said the state government must take action against the TDP leaders who led the procession for allegedly insulting a Harijan.
The Dalits and Harijans would intensify their agitation under "Dalit Atma Parirakshana Samithi" until Mr Naidu tenders an apology and takes action against his partymen who had indulged in the act, he said.
