Punjabi filmmaker dies of heart attack

Mumbai, Oct 22 (UNI) Manoj Punj, a leading Punjabi film director died of a massive heart attack here today.

Punj was in his late 40s, family sources said.

His latest film 'Waris Shah' starring Gurudas Mann and Juhi Chawla was released here recently.

He directed 'shaheed-e-Mohabbat Buta Singh' with Mann and Divya Dutta, Des Hoya Pardes with Mann again and Juhi Chawla and also a Hindi film 'Zindagi Khoobsurat Hai' in his brief but successful film career as director.

His debut film 'Shaheed e- Mohabbat' was remade as 'Gadar' with Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel.
