Mufti's self-rule, demands de-militarisation

Jammu, Oct 22: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today condemned PDP patron and former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for advocating ''ambiguous'' self-rule and de-militarisation in the state.

JKNPP supremo Bhim Singh, in a statement, urged the Prime Minister to tame Mr Mufti without any delay before ''he and his company manages to endanger the security of the state at the instance of his masters operating across the border.'' Prof Singh termed Mr Mufti's demands that self-rule and de-militarisation be taken up for discussion by the Prime Minister as ''highly provocative''.

The JKNPP leader also demanded a judicial probe into the ''tactic involvement of Mr Mufti and his party leaders' nexus with certain terrorist groups operating in Kashmir.'' ''Party also demands a through probe into the kidnapping drama of his daughter, to seek release of dreaded terrorist from the prison while Mr Mufti himself was the Union Home Minister,'' the statement read.

People's Democratic Party (PDP) is the major partner in the Congress-led state government.
