Jeev improves to tied 30th in Mallorca Classic

Mallorca, Oct 22 (UNI) Jeev Milkha Singh returned a vastly improved card of one-under 69 to climb to the tied 30th spot after the penultimate round of the 1,750,000 euro Mallorca Classic here.

However, despite the improvement the UBS Asian Tour Order of Merit leader continues to be over-par and has a three-day total of five-over 215.

After managing to make the cut, which fell at eight-over 148 -- equalling the highest cut to par in European Tour event in 2006 outside the Majors, Jeev was off to a great start as he sank in a birdie on the second hole.

However, bogey on the very next hole pulled him back as Jeev made the turn level-par.

His back-nine, which started and ended with birdies, saw him a drop a shot on the 13th at the Pula Golf Club.

Meanwhile, at the top, leaders Niclas Fasth and Gary Murphy started the day tied at the head of affairs and ended it in exactly the same situation.

The Swede and the Irishman carded level par 70s for a three-under total of 207 to move one shot clear of Australian Peter O'Malley, who returned a 68 for a two-under total of 208.
