Gunman arrested while Munda's visit; BJP wants security
Jamshedpur, Oct 22: The Special Tast Force (STF) arrested an armed person, who was reportedly approaching towards former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda during his visit to a puja pandal here at Dhatkidih last night.
Police today said Manoj Sundi, who had criminal antecedent, was nabed by the STF, while the former was heading towards Mr Munda.
The pistol was loaded with six rounds of bulltes, police said.
Last night's incident was second one within a week when the gunmen were spotted near the former Chief Minister.
Police also nabbed two gunmen near Chaibasa in West Singhbhum district on Octber 15 from a function of Mr Munda, the sources said.
Meanwhile, referring to the last night's incident, Mr Munda apprehened that a conspiracy was being hatched by his detractors.
The BJP also demanded to strenghten the security of the former Chief Minister after the incident of arresting of three gunmen within a week. It was a clear indication of threat to Mr Munda's life, the party source said.
The party said the Opposition was scared of the popularity of Mr Munda even after the NDA government was dethroned.
