Govt plans to set up 2000 MW power plant at Machilipatnam
Machilipatnam, Oct 22 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government is planning to set up a coal based 2000 Mega Watt power plant at Machilipatnam at an estimated cost of Rs 900 crore, according to Krishna District Collector Navin Mittal.
Talking to UNI here today, Mr Mittal said the state Government had send a proposal to the Union Power Ministry in this regard.
About 1200 acres of land was required for this plant.
He said the revival of the ancient port of Machilipatnam would be taken up and location for the port was yet to be finalised.
