CBI court frames charges against former Gujarat IG
New Delhi, Oct 22 (UNI) A Special CBI court has framed charges against former Gujarat IG, CID and Crime (Railways) Gurdayal Singh in a 1990 forgery and cheating case.
Special CBI judge Vinod Goel framed the charges against Gurdayal and two others, Rashid Masood and Sachidanand Trivedi.
In 1990, Gurdayal, then the Resident Commissioner in Tripura House had written a fake recommendation letter for the MBBS admission of three students to the state government.
The fake letter was discovered in 1996 and the Guahati High had given permission to file an FIR. CBI filed the chargesheet on April 2, 2003.
