Capt Singh's 'Road Show' programme in November

Patiala, Oct 22 (UNI) The proposed 'Road Show' programme of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh which would take him to every nook and corner of Punjab just ahead of the assembly polls, would now held in the later half of next month.

"The 'Road Show' programme will now commence after November 14 as Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Shamsher Singh Dullo had now decided to hold 'Jan Sampark' (mass contact) rallies at the block level", Capr singh while talking to mediapersons here today.

The 'Jan Sampark' programmnes would involve a number of public rallies aimed to highlight the achievements of the government, he said and added this progarmme would conclude with a state level rally on November 14. The 'Road Show' programmes were to begin in the last week of this month.

Asked to spell out a package for farmers, Capt Singh said that the state government had already given substantial relief to the farmers in the form of bonus of Rs 50 per quintal on wheat and a hike in the MSP of Rs 50 per quintal on paddy. Besides smooth and hassle free procurement of all the crops during the last four and a half years and timely payment to the farmers had been ensured, he added.

He said that the government was also seriously working out a viable package to bail out the farming community from the burden of rural indebtedness.
