Bryan twins take seventh doubles title of the year

MADRID, Oct 22 (Reuters) Top seeds Bob and Mike Bryan claimed their seventh doubles title of the year with a 7-5 6-4 victory over twice defending champions Mark Knowles and Daniel Nestor at the Madrid Masters today.

The American twins, who also won at Wimbledon and the Australian Open this year, fought back from 4-1 down to take the first set.

With the scores level at 3-3 in the second set they broke Knowles's serve for the fourth time in the match and eased their way to victory to prevent their opponents claiming a fourth Madrid title in five attempts.

The Bryans are on target to finish as the year-end top ranked doubles pairing for the third time in four years.
