Appeal for Afzal clemancy in Mizoram

Aizawl, Oct 22 (UNI) The Zo Re-Unification Organisation (ZORO), an NGO, has appealed to the President APJ Abdul Kalam to extend clemency to Mohammad Afzal Guru, who has been given death sentence by the Supreme Court.

ZORO, in its appeal, said here today its request is in conformity with Non-Violence Movement and Liberalism championed by the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.

Afzal was the mastermind behind attack on Parliament in December 2003.
