About 80 people injured during Festival of Lights
Bangalore, Oct 22 (UNI) More than 80 people, including four seriously, injured, mostly on their eyes, even as the Garden City Bangalore celebrating the Festival of Lights.
According to Police, most of the injuries were accidental, some while witnessing lighting of the crackers. Some while walking when 'Rocket' fired from some where hit them.
A labour sustained burn injuries on his body, when in a drunken mood after lighting cigarette threw the half burnt match stick on a bundle of crackers he had bought to celebrate the festival.
Only satisfying thing was according to one Doctor of a private hospital the number of injured was less as compared to last year, may be it was due too awareness created by various organisations.
All the injured undergoing treatment in various hospitals including Government's Minto Hospital.
All Eye Hospitals in the City have been working round the clock to attend to the injured.
