35-year-old man hacked to death

Kannur, Kerala, Oct 22(UNI) A 35-year-old man was found hacked to death at Madapeedika, near Thalassery here today.

The dead, identified as Muhammed Faizal, is said to be a National Democratic Front (NDF) activist, police said.

After visiting the place, state Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan told reporters that the murder was pre-planned and some conspiracy was behind it.

He said necessary orders had been issued to the police to make sure that violence dose not spread to other areas.

Top police officials, including Northern Director General of Police S Ananthakrishnan and Superintendent of Police Mathew Polycarp were camping in the area.
